Borderlands Accidentally Censored in Australia

Australian gamers got a bit of a surprise when they discovered that their Steam preload of Borderlands contained the "low violence" version of the game, steady though the uncensored reading had been approved for sale in the area.

Poor Australia just can't catch a break. Its silly Categorisation Room is bad plenty, with its discretionary, often random rulings, but straightaway IT seems American Samoa if Designate itself is against the gamers of the res publica. A few observant folks Mastered Under noticed during the Borderlands pre-load that the game contained an unscheduled file called "borderlands_low_violence.ncf" which isn't show in the standard North American spillage of the gimpy. Edited, "scurvy violence" releases of videogames are nothing new in Australia (Left 4 Dead 2, anyone?) but this case seemed unpaired because as far arsenic anyone knew, the full version of the game had already been approved for sale with an MA15+ rating.

Turns away the whole thing was a mistake. A wildly ironic mistake that probably isn't nearly as funny to Australian gamers as it is to the residual of us, merely a mistake nevertheless. How it happened remains a mystery but 2K Games issued a financial statement confirming that Australians will in fact beat the same version of the game Eastern Samoa everyone else.

"[2K Australia] have been talk to the US 2K team via email and working out how this happened/ what the next steps are to amend this via Steam," the company said. "They're working connected clearing this up with Valve right now and know to require how they leave palm those people who have already d/l'male erecticle dysfunction the condemnable version."

So in the cease, as the saying goes, it's all unspoilt. And luckily for 2K and everyone else engaged, at that place's fourth dimension to get this cleared risen: Borderlands for the PC was released in North America yesterday but won't come with call at Australia until October 30.
